    Great stuff!

    As an experienced maintenance electrician, I'd say yes, this is a very good cheap fix for your oven. Your original thermostat could have one of many length wires and temperature ranges, whereas this is a one size fits all with a wire that isn't as long as some and it will beat your oven up to 325°C if you turn it right round which is sizzling hot! Mine has a longer wire originally (1730mm), but this replacement still stretched okay to the back of the oven and we only turn it to the six O'clock position to get to approximately 220°C, so bear in mind it will be more difficult to find the precise temperature you're used to, if your original maxed out at 230 like ours did. Whatever your thermostat says on the back, look it up in the pdf you can find by searching: ...

    It Does The Job

    It was not a perfect fit replacement item as the orientation and location of the electrical connection lugs meant that they ended up far too close to the frame of the cooker. A bit of "judicious metal bending " was necessary to effect a safe distance between the lugs and the cooker's framework. That said, once the modification had been effected the job was perfectly adequate and the item performs perfectly - at a fraction of the cost of a manufacturer's proposed replacement item.
