      Great for sealing wood but not good for vacuum systems.

      It works well but best to just paint it on. I used it in a vacuum system and had to change the oil twice in the vacuum pump. This product is apparently not made for vacuum systems but I didn't read close enough before I ordered it. I am still giving it a good rating because it is a good product and sealed my knife handles very well. Not many people use vacuum systems so Minwax Wood Hardener should work well for most.

      adulterated?

      I am guessing maybe a 5 gal can was poured into the pint cans or it was otherwise adulterated. I ordered 3 cans. The caps had packing tape over them? They came in a plastic envelope, when it opened the package over my beautiful finished wood living room floor, this product spilled several ounces onto the finished wood. One of the cans leaked inside the envelope. Why were the caps loose to start with?

      Stabilize it.

      I use it to stabilize wood for knife handles. The Minwax wood hardener allows me to produce top quality handle material without having to pay for high priced commercially treated products.
