    Packaging/Shipping - Item arrived in pieces (broken). It was a very hurried and sloppy job of packing. It is a breakable item, there was very little packing material to protect the item. They could have wrapped the two pieces separate for better protection.

    Please note the items were packed where both pieces were wrapped separately. I made sure the glass top and the dish itself could not touch one another. I made sure the items did not even move within the box by shaking it. The items could not bang against one another. I can only guess the package was dropped by someone. I asked the buyer to send a picture of the breakage. They have yet to do so.

    A watering timer worth the price.

    I cannot imagine what made Melnor stop making these. They are excellent timers for watering. A set of batteries lasts all summer. They have large-bore water channels so that they can support even high volume sprinklers. The controls are simple and the dials have solid detents to let you know when the setting has been changed. The internal actuators make a sound as the valves change position, so you always know if its working. The only modification I make to them is to use a fine-tipped marker to darken the tiny arrows on the dials to make them easier to see. The newer, "digital" version of these is a weak copy, not even worthy of comparison.

    Positive actuation and high volume.

    This model is no longer made, but was the best one I've found. The "dial" interface is simple to use, the valves open and close audibly, and the volume of flow is sufficient for a small sprinkler. We use them for soaker hoses in plantings around the yard and for the vegetable garden. A set of batteries will last all summer. I've had newer models and they just don't work as well. I've picked up a few spares of this model on e-bay and have not been disappointed with their performance.

    MELNOR is a great product anyway.

    MELNOR is a great product anyway. I have three of their products, and use them religiously during the summer. I have them set up, so they can be working, watering the lawn, or the garden, while I am asleep, saving me time and energy, to do other things, needing to be done, either working in the yard, or the garden. Now, if I can only get them to mow the lawn, and weed the garden (LOL)

    Great produce

    This product is a must have for a new seed bed. Because of new seed water requirements it is easy to sometimes forget to turn the hose on on a daily basis. That will not happen with this easy to setup product. Great MMI (man machine interface).

    Simple 2 Zone Automatic Sprinkler Controller

    Easy to set up. Easy to skip for rain days. Operates 2 hoses with individual settings so that they can be set at different times. Poor mans automatic sprinkler controller. Works for me.
