Making their getaway after raiding Harkdale bank, a gang of thieves are surprised by the police and a car chase ensues. When the robbers' car crashes, killing two of them, the police go to retrieve the money, but it is not there. They trace it to an accomplice, Gavin Renson, but then he is found dead in the garage of Paul's country cottage. Shortly before the gruesome discovery, Paul and Steve had given a lift to a beautiful redhead, Betty Stanway, who overheard her boyfriend Desmond Blane plotting a robbery on the telephone. Is he the gang leader? Did he kill Renson? And if so, is Betty's life in danger?
