      It's a ride, to be sure

      I found his other tomes, slightly meandering and too punctuated with irrelevant, almost sycophantic historical facts, or slings & arrows of self one-upmanship. God Is Not Great, is not a great book. (yes, I'm an atheist). But, this is personal, revealing, and meanders nicely. I'll stick to Xenophon, Plutarch, Thucydides, Plato, to be honest. I find most modern writing purely self indulgent, at least these older writers were trying to convey something applicable to everyone.

      A must read

      Incredibly brave man , with a knowledge and vocabulary of the English language unequaled , it would be interesting to see what his thought of todays world, had he not been taken from it far to soon , mortality is my next read which will tie me up in knots , at the very least a half hitch .
