    History made engrossing

    President Harry Truman once said: "If you want to understand the world today, read about the Roman emperors; they had the same troubles that we have now." "I, Claudius)" tells this critical part of history in a fine way. The cast (led by Derek Jacobi), script, sets, costumes, etc. all are first-rate. This product ranks with "The Six Wives of Henry VIII" and "Shogun" as entertaining history.

    PBS - The Best

    Excellent portrayal of the dysfunctional families of Rome and their disregard for human life. The actors are superb - from youth through old age, telling the story we'd never had known were it not for Claudius. Great story of the"family idiot" rising above his handicaps in spite of a cruel, unrelenting barrage of ridicule while always being laughed at. A must have for history buffs!

    Engrossing historical drama

    I saw this serial years ago when i was in college. This was one of the best shows that remember that i have seen. Story acting every thing was perfect. Always wanted to have a the dvd of this show. I am happy that i bought now.

    Great drama acted superbly by a very strong cast.

    This is a great drama filled with really great, really high level actors. This gives a very good feel for the power-hungary ruling class in Rome. John Hurt is not to be missed among many others.
