This is really that simple and accurate to use, it does take out the guess work of chain slack. I know i have been stood round a number of bikes over many years, and each owner thinks their right, when its just putting your finger to the chain, and pushing it up and down. So if you doubt your own accurate "up and down" seems OK, then this will be your friend. It is accurate, and easy to use, the guide is in the back of the blister pack, however i think the price seems a little high, but it might be around for a long time, so will maybe forget the price after a few years of use.

On 2 of my off road bikes the chain hits the swing arm and lower chain roller during chain adjustment making it impossible to get it to the correct tension. The chain monkey removes this problem. The only bad point is if you throw the tool in your tool box and dispose of the packaging you also end up disposing of the chain monkey tension setting chart. This chart should be on the tool not on the packaging.

I bought this as I have 4 vintage (1980's) bikes from 250-750. Can't say that the instructions are that clear and could be on the tool itself. It is simple to use but the instructions allow such enormous variation so getting it right first time is unlikely and like me you will have to adjust in spanner increments . The black plastic sheared off the chain holder first time on my 750 bit reveals metal so I am ok with that. BUT I can see that by using this tool it gets it more exact simply by holding chain in right position so that after initial use you can make spanner 1/4 turn adjustments to perfection. Would I buy it again- yes There is no doubt that all my bikes chains are spot on better than ever. Not a great deal but there is more work to be done than in videos but not much.
