    Boogie Once More With The Hook

    JL Hooker's brilliance is loud and clear on this set. Many unissued items with clear as crystal sound. A chance to hear his process of formulating songs as multiple (full-length) takes of various songs are included. His spontaneity as a songsmith is remarkable. For this listener, breaking up the listening to one CD at a time, was the best practice. Many tunes are taken at a similar pace, Virtually all feature only Hooker and his guitar with some overdubs of harmonica and, bizarrely, organ. As an added bonus the last three cuts are by Eddie Kirkland with John Lee Hooker dubbed on two of them. This is music meant to be played loud, preferaby in your car with the windows wide open, hurtling down an inky road at midnight!
