Slight damage to joint in the middle as cracked but repaired, ideally the cord needs to be looser when packed as this was under pressure when removing from pack as cracked the sleep of the joint.

An item of necessity being disabled. I have loads of them in the hope one will be to hand when needed! Not the best one I’ve had and has taken 3 attempts due to transit damage! The packaging on the first delivery was just a plastic postal bag! Bent and broken joint. The second attempt same bag with some added bubble wrap plastic joint was again broken 3rd attempt as 2nd but made it just slightly bent. Poor packing, I bought 3 others same day and all came in cardboard boxes. Pointed this out!?

    So Useful

    I am an old bloke and find this device incredibly useful. It is well constructed and will pick up anything down from the weight limit to the smallest item. I have nothing wrong with my back, and intend keeping it this way. This device enables me to avoid many awkward bends and twists involved in picking things up, and keeps my back O.K..

    Not fit for purpose

    It is much too weak and lightweight. It is not strong enough to lift bags of rice, flour or porridge from the top shelf. I use my helping hand one all the time for lots of things, really good but I would not recommend this to anyone except for travelling.

    The narrow jaws (5cm) are a bit limited. Cannot grip some large cereal packets on top of the kitchen units.

    Bought for my 87 year old mom

    She loved it.She is really tiny and had trouble reaching on to the top shelf in her fridge .Was able to get a cola can out with ease.You can even lock the gripper so it can hold heavier items with out dropping I am ordering another one for myself
