    Could be 5 stars with design modification

    I bought this after I had to return a Honeywell unit with a negative ion feature which aggravated my asthmatic lungs. This unit has an ultraviolet light which cleanses the air of mold, bacteria, and mildew spores which I believe is the concept. The only problem is that the blue light is way too bright at night and needs to be covered over with a pillowcase. However at the low setting it is very quiet and I hardly hear it in the bedroom at night. Since using this, I feel that my sleep is more restful and I am not as congested. I use this in the basement bedroom which probably has worse air than the main floor. I will probably buy another unit for another room, I think it can be used on the low setting while watching tv. Only the bright light keeps me from giving this 5 stars. Highly ...

    Lightweight with great features

    I like the style, and the fact that it takes up very little space, but I don't like the noise level at levels 2 and 3. My husband is a vapor, (which I why I purchased the purifier), and I can still smell the smoke in the room from time to time, with the purifier on, and I wake up with a sore, scratchy throat with a dry cough, which I expected that this purifier would clear the air so that I wouldn't have these symptoms.

    Excellent Air Purifier at a Great Price

    I bought this to replace an old air purifier in my bedroom. This had excellent reviews and was at a great price. What I like is how the charcoal prefilter seals to the face of the HEPA filter, allowing no gaps for air to bypass. The filters and the UV bulb, are affordable to replace (unlike some other brands). Construction is of high quality. UV light is really bright at night but can be turned off and turned back on when you wake up. This unit doesn't have all the gee-whiz bells and whistles of other brands but it's solid and does a great job without breaking the budget. I highly recommend.

    Nice compact unit with great features, easy to use

    I have carpet and a pet, helps to keep our small space fresher.. You can feel the air actually cleaner.. The unit is quiet on low but on higher setting it is of course noisy like a fan.. But it is not a irritating noise just fan like.

    GermGuardian air purifier

    I purchased this unit to replace an aging other manufactures unit for which I could no longer get replacement filters. It was listed as refurbished but it came in original packaging. The instructions were a photocopy but otherwise everything looked brand new. The unit is very quiet on the low setting which is what I use most. I will use a higher speed if I need to freshen up the air due to cooking odors or smoke. I keep the UV light on constantly. It is situated in our living room and is more than adequate for the 14 x 28 ft area.
