    Perfect solution. Problem solved

    My portable hard drive on which I store my videos, only has a short usb cable and when I connect it to my wall mounted TV, it just hangs down like a pendulem. Not ideal ! Now with this extension cable, I am able to lay the hard drive on a nearby shelf, eliminating strain on the cable and sockets, problem solved !
