      Guitar maven returns on top form

      I've loved PM since first being made aware of his music by a certain Philip Collins way back in the 1970's, when PC was part time with Brand X. This latest addition to the Metheny canon is both delightful and a return to his 80's best.

      Been a Pat Metheny fan most of my life. Nuff said.

      First original set compositions for a few years and with some new personnel. Fantastic production gives the cinematic soundscapes all the space and nuances required. Needs a few listens to get to grips with the themes, but that’s a positive! Top class musicianship from world class musicians. Pat Metheny never fails to deliver. In my ears anyway. I could be a bit biased tho’. On a more melancholy note I’m really going to miss pianist Lyle Mays who featured on many of the Pat Metheny Group records who sadly passed away in February this year. RIP Lyle you were a one off!

      Has the flavour of the PMG of the past - without Lyle Mays of course!

      Some tracks remind you of the PMG in the good old days! No Lyle of course nowadays-sadly missed but cd is well worth buying-rather more easy listening than say Offramp-if you love the way out stuff; it may seem bit tame but I like it!

      Pat Metheny From this place (2020 Nonesuch) Cd Album.

      Modern Jazz music played by excellent/ top quality musicians.-I didn't like all the tracks on this album and It's not as good as some of his previous Albums.- I preferred it when Lyle Mays played Piano also.
