In the Devil May Cry Xbox 360 game, you play the main character, Dante, a professional demon hunter who seeks revenge while coming to terms with the death of his mother and brother. Dante resides on a fictional island called Mallet Island. Mallet Island resembles the present day world, but it is filled with demons, monsters, and other enemies. After Dante meets a mysterious woman, he must defeat a powerful demon named Mundus. You control Dante through castles, strange dimensions, and city streets. Your overall mission in DMC is to defeat Mundus and send him and his demons back to hell. Each level in Devil May Cry for Xbox is called a mission. Like most action adventure games, passing each mission involves defeating a boss. Most enemies come in the form of possessed marionettes, and you must beat them as you move through your missions. You acquire a number of accessories and weapons along the way, including Alastor, a magical sword. Your performance in each mission is ranked based on how well you do in combat, how much time it takes you to complete the mission, and how many orbs you collect. You can check coffins and other hidden places to find additional orbs and improve your scores. You can access special combat attacks throughout DMC by using the “Devil Trigger,” which temporarily turns Dante into a demon. Although the game is a hack-and-slash action thriller, it incorporates other elements. You must solve puzzles and challenges throughout this DMC game, and there are exploration and platforming elements interspersed throughout the story. Side quests can make the game more interesting, especially if you have already played through the game. Cutscene videos help advance the story and feature stunning anime-style animation. Although the gameplay leans toward the more challenging side of the spectrum, you can play in modes ranging from easy to Dante Must Die. Devil May Cry does not require any accessories. You can take Dante on his missions and enjoy the game without special controllers. The game is only available in single-player mode, so multiple controller accessories are not necessary. Devil May Cry’s original release date was August 23, 2001. Capcom originally developed the game as a title in its popular Resident Evil series, but it evolved into its own project. Capcom released the game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3 games systems. It features a rating of M for Mature due to violence and mature themes. This DMC product is for the Xbox 360 games console and is also playable on Xbox One consoles. It is not compatible with other game systems, such as Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii U, PS3, or PS4. Devil May Cry spawned a series with the same name. Other popular video games in the series include Devil May Cry 4 and DmC: Devil May Cry.
