    Is ok

    It's an ivybridge quad core with hypertheading, with a 100MHZ higher base clock than a similarly priced i7-3770 which should perform more or less identically. Not exactly a speed demon by modern standards, but it works pretty good. Seems to be compatible with b75 chipset motherboards by my sample size of one.

    Great Ivy Bridge I7 alternative

    Excellent alternative to the I7-3770. Works great in LGA 1155 socket if you do not need onboard graphics. Make sure your motherboard bios supports the xeon line of CPUs.

    A very good alternative keeping budget in mind : )

    This might be older tech, but it is still relevant considering that intel hasn't changed drastically that much by any means in huge leap and bounds. Paired with the right motherboard such as gigabyte or asus; including ddr3 2400 mhz sweet spot; You can run the latest apps that take advantage of multi threaded cpu and play even the latest modern titles with descent video card such as geforce 1060 6gb or amd radeon 570 8gb. For a cpu that is 3.5 ghz the turbos to 3.9 ghz; that is more than enough horsepower to plow through heavy workloads.
