The books were exactly as advertised and were delivered in perfect condition. For second hand books they were high quality books, basically brand new in appearance. I rate the purchase as excellent value. I live in Australia and the books came from USA. They were very well packaged. I highly recommend this seller.

This seller was a delight to deal with, the item was exactly as described, and the cellar went above and beyond the call and actually delivered me some extra books that he threw in, i never had anyone gift me several books. After I made a two book purchase, what a generous soul, thank you again, and I will continue to purchase and look at the store, and would be honored to give him my business.

    The start of an obsession

I originally read this book during the early 2000's. I was captivated by the authors attention to historical detail and writing style. I have since bought an abridged copy of the Lewis and Clark journals, the PBS Ken Burns movie "The Corps of Discovery", and even downloaded the complete seven volume Lewis and Clark journals in PDF format from the Wisconsin Historical Society. UNDAUNTED COURAGE by Stephen E Ambrose is my favorite all time read. I am reviewing my original thoughts of this book. I just recently purchased the replacement for my original one. It had been read by me several times, and will be read many more. If you're into history, the Lewis and Clark expedition, or you just need to write a book report for school, this book is the one for you. Please give this book a try, you ...

    Lewis and Clark

Ambrose is an historian and writes a detailed and well annotated description of the preparations and journey of Lewis and Clark in a most interesting era .It traces Lewis's background from his youth and his long relationship with Jefferson. It gives insight into life in the late 1700's and early1800's and that part is fascinating. The entire book demonstrates the politics of the time, even some of the background that is presently discussed in the Broadway show"Hamilton" and can be closely compared to the Donald Trump phenomenon. The bad part is that the detailed historical form is annoying and difficult to read. As a researcher, Ambrose closely follows and includes many of the writings of the time for the sake of accuracy but not poetry. it is quite dry. and doesn't flow. As one who is ...

  • Excellent historical narrative.

Ambrose is a master story teller. This is a terrific overview of the expedition and companion to the Journals of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. On another note: This has book nothing to do with Trump presidency or the dreadful Hamilton musical mentioned by one completely idiotic reviewer.

  • Undaunted

I liked how the author writes. I got so involved, trying to imagine being there. I felt the information had been well researched and compiled

  • My brother LOVED it.

MY brother loved it. He's a Marine and was in the hospital and started it but had to leave it when he left so I bought it for him and he read it in a week.
