Even today, "The Magic Christian" holds up as a wonderful biting satire on greed, and the price that just about everyone puts on one's self. Yes, it is dated (1969), but still very entertaining, especially for Monty Python fans. You will see the influence writer Terry Southern's (Dr. Strangelove, The Loved Ones, Easy Rider) humor had on so many others. Some of the bits work and others strain for a laugh, but there a far more hits than misses. Peter Sellers is wonderfully drab as the mega-rich entrepreneur with an evil edge while Ringo is his usual droll self as the grown man he adopts. The music is peppered with Beatles' tunes and adds to much fun. The only drawback is the presentation of this blu-ray. The sound shows its age, and the picture is not up to par with the blu's of today, but is probably the best its ever looked. Also, there are no extras.Read full review
