    Great Sound - Icom quality that you would expect.

    I purchased it to use with my Icom-7300. The sound reports that I have received so far exceed my expectations. The SM-30 looks great as a new addition to my Ham Radio gear. I find it much easier to use the PTT on the base of the mic than the standard handheld Icom Mic. My desk and shack look neat and clean with this mic. I'm no sound engineer but the unidirectional, electret condenser built into this microphone makes it easy to put out a very consistent sound that so far seems to be heard loud and clear that I contact. I highly recommend the SM-30 Desk Top Mic.

    Up Down switch ?

    Well firstly there is no up down switch Doesn't bother me enormously and the mic does work very well. The value is not quite as good as it could be as the import duty hiked the overall price up. Yes there is a warning of that but at the time of purchase there was no way I knew of to determine what that would be. All that said the build quality is good and as mentioned above it works very well.

    SM 30 desk mik

    This mike sits in the shadow of the larger, and more expensive SM50. And there are the Heil mikes that reign supreme. BUT I got this one for the value I tried it on the air and people routinely say it's 'broadcast quality'. I listened to my own voice on my IC 7600 voice recorder. The difference between the stock hand mike, and the SM30 is very distinct. The hand mike is good, but the SM30 has more bass response, leading to a more natural sound. Right now in 2017 it runs for about 130, which is a good value.

    Much easier to use than a Hand Microphone.

    This is so much easier than the Hand Microphone, shipped with my IC-7300. Seems a bit pricey, but one of the lowest prices I could find on the internet. I received it in less than a week. Just in time for the CQ WW WPX Contest. It worked really during the contest, and because of it, I could use 2 hands for my computer logging.
