I have been using the props for narrow pieces of plasterboard fitted between joists. They are excellent for where access by a full size plasterboard lift cannot be used. In addition the ceilings in my house are very high in some places (over 3 metres) so the length is very useful to avoid having to use extra lift under the prop. Only negative is the slow action of the clamp mechanism if you do not have a free hand to pull quickly to approximate extension. Just needs a bit of planning and organisation to ensure everything is set up right first. Great for this sort of job.

On long extent they do not clamp tight enough to push board hard up, they then kink at an angle, also quick release is a finger trapper and the top pad ends up popping off. These got me out of a fix but not really capable of doing a big job.

Extremely easy to use and if you are attempting to do a ceiling on your own it is essential to use a couple of these. The only down side is the release mechanism, it would be fantastic if you could release it slowly rather than having to hold the plasterboard up, press the release trigger and hope it doesn’t drop too quickly when just needing to reposition the sheet slightly.

The trigger handle on this tool is very weak, my one broke in the post, but I doubt it would have lasted long anyway. Needs a more substantial design similar to a silicon gun. This felt more cheap toy quality.

A great pair of helping hands that are well priced. Theses props are easy to use and move about.
