Great Item - Has everything the budding Technician needs to Solder. Shame about the case colour though. A little bit bright on the eyes, that however does not conflict with the contents

Typical chineese unsafe rubbish.

Absolute waste of money. I would find a different soldering iron. The case it comes in is not bad, with elastocated straps to hold things in place. The solder that comes with it is an absolute joke. The biggest problem with this kit is the soldering iron itself! Firstly, the flexi part where the cable goes into the iron keeps falling off, exposing the circuit borad inside. And secondly, the tips melt so fast! I have used my one for about an hour, and the tip has melted away to nothing! Not what you would expect from a new piece of kit. I must admit, the iron does sit in my hand very nicely. it is not to heavy, yet not too light. I can hold it comfortably and use it without feeling awkward. But just like everything that comes from china, the quality of parts used to make the item are extremely poor, and in most cases the poor quality of parts makes the items unsafe, I feel that in the case of this soldering iron kit, it has made it unsafe. The thing melts and falls apart! So if the molten hot metal of the tip doesn't get you properly, the electricution from the exposed wiring will! Please, for the love of god can everyone stop importing things from China! maybe if it hits them in the pocket, they might buck their ideas up and actually start putting better quality control in place, and start making safer items!!

All you need to get started

A comprehensive kit, everything you need to get started is there. The soldering iron has a temperature control knob, which is great if you need to avoid overheating what you are soldering. That is a problem I had with my old iron. Only niggle is the stand. The nuts must be fully tightened, else the weight of the iron can make the stand move and fall over. Fully tightened this doesn't happen.

Overall happy with it, good value for money

Great solder iron, good support frame and excellent tweezers. Solder is a nice touch. The sponge doesn't really get solder off, the sample red and black wires seem like a novelty and I'm not sure about the solder remover kit but if you want a solid solder iron and frame then it's a pretty good kit. I've done some detailed soldering with the fine tip and it works a charm.

comes in a neat little case with loads of extras

I brought this soldering iron to make holes in plastic, its neat easy to use, comes with a stand [that you have to put together] and so easy to use. The adjustable temperature gage makes sure I get the perfect temperature. it comes with loads of other bits. I think it is very good value for money. BUT I am NOT using it to solder metal. It is perfect for what I need it for
