One of the powerful elements to an episode is music. And the Buffy series was in no short supply of that. Certain episodes just holds a special part in our hearts, and a song in the ep can remind us of emotions and memories years after. I'm sure most Buffy fans are between the ages of 25-33. For those who were like me, was also in high school somewhere during the first 3 seasons. So in a way, we grew up with them. For the hardcore fans you probably wouldn't need this list, but for those of you hesitating to buy this album...here's the ep where the track was featured: 1. the theme song (duh!) 4. Never Kill a Boy on the First Date 7. The Harsh Light of Day 8. The I in Team 9. Doppelgangland 10. Teacher’s Pet 11. Where the Wild Things Are 12. Beer Bad 13. When She Was Bad 14. The Prom 15. Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered; Dead Man's Party; Living Conditions 16. I Only Have Eyes For You 17. Surprise 18. Becoming Part 2 So if any of the above eps was a fav of yours, it's safe bet you'll enjoy this album. Though I'm unhappy that #2, #3, #5, and #6 were included when they were not in any ep, but it does fill up the lineup decently. You can consider them unused tracks. Either way, 14/18 on a CD is still pretty good. Unlike some of the other soundtracks out there, where more than half weren't in the show/movie. I'm still rating this perfect though it's not perfect, but pretty damn close. Buy it to enjoy it, or buy it to pick at it's flaws. But either way, Buffy fans should have this in their collection.Read full review
Tha film was watchable but average, Joss Whedon wouldn't let it lie though and ressuected Buffy as a tv series...and what a difference. Sarah Michelle Gellar and the rest of the Scooby Gang live their out normal everyday problems to a backdrop of Monsters and Demons but with a fantastic soundtrack to boot. It isn't the same listening to tracks without Mr Pointy doing the business on screen but it comes a close second best. It probably stands up on it's own but frankly who cares? If you like Buffy [and lots of people do] you have to have this album.
I like this album because it is Buffy the Vampire Slayer which is cool. I decided to buy it because I can listen to it when I'm not watching the show.
Great music on this CD! I bought it as I was a huge fan of both Buffy and Angel. I have the DVD for 'Once More With Feeling' so I thought this was a must for my collection of memorabilia. The tracks reminded me of particular episodes and plot lines, but even if you hadn't been a fan of the show the album is brilliant anyway!I had planned to highlight my favourite tracks but having listened to the whole album for the umpteenth time...I can't ..there are too many!
And a good buy for any 90's indie music fans, although it doesn't contain the full nerf herder title track for some reason. Apparently the UK and Australian versions do, however.
