I have maimed many watches with cheap versions of this tool. When I finally got the watch I have lusted after for years, I bought this tooll, curious to see if Bergeon lives up to their reputation for tools. Everything is quality. The steel is very strong. Grip is excellent. It is a solid, refined tool. I must have spent more on this type of tool over the years than this purchase actually costs, but the ‘real deal’ is so much better you just can’t believe it. The tip fits into the recess for the spring bar. It grips it easily and securely. The bar is easily removed. No broken prongs. No slipping and scratching your watch. This isn’t expensive when you consider that you won’t have to buy another one, and my watch doesn’t look like someone tried to remove the spring bar whilst wearing a blindfold. Got a watch? Get one of these and don’t waste your money on the cheap ones that promise much but just don’t deliver. Read full review

Don't bother buying the cheap Chinese copies, you'll only wish you'd bought the genuine swiss-made article when the tips break or bend! This one will not last forever but at least the fork-bit is made from decent tool steel and you can always find genuine replacement bits on eBay.

Bergeon is the industry standard for watch tools and well worth the small extra cost over cheaper unbranded models that either break or don't work as well. Buying quality also avoids the frustration of working with less effective tools. I know! I had bought two cheaper models, both of which broke, before accepting that buying cheap was a false economy. An excellent purchase and highly recommended.

I’ve bought a few of these similar tools and found most of them either useless or difficult to use. This is in a different league. Precision made and makes changing straps on my Omega dead easy. You pay a bit more but worth every penny. Would highly recommend.

The only speingbar tool you'll ever need ( well almost). I have 2 of these now. 1 large fork and 1 small fork. They will now do most springbars on the market baring drilled and screwed lugs. Trust me don't mess about, buy these and they'll last you years. Well built and strong, they are the only ones you'll need.
