I've always stuck with Google phones because I'm a developer, and I need to be first to have android updates. I've had all three nexus phones. Problem is this should be a flagship phone, but google always screw something, some piece of hardware is not adequate for a top phone. In this one, the camera sucks, but that's ok, I can live without a decent camera. The screen is pentile again. It has that grainy effect notecible in solid backgrounds. My phone has a small blueish tint on the top edge, too. Yeah, I'll have to get used with it again. But the worst of all, the speaker is badly low. It's annoying low, even in the max volume. Meaning that you'll miss calls, texts and alarm.
I liked the look of the Samsung GALAXY Nexus GT-I9250 - 16 GB - Smartphone. Though at the time I did not realise how big they are (not the sort of phone you could discreetly slip in to your trouser pocket and get away without being noticed. And as one of my friends commentated it’s a very good looking slim brick). So if you are happy with big then this is big! I have found the phone easy to use and I‘m able to navigate around with ease. The touch screen is responsive and the apps are clear. The speed of the phone is also impressive though as a result of this the battery life is limited if you are using the phone a lot. Another annoying thing is the speed at which the phones screen goes into rest mode though this can be changed in the settings. On turning the phone on for the first time it went into its start up program and then went to a screen where I was confronted with a green dustbin with a smiling face telling me that the phone is up loading and I should not touch anything. Above the dustbin is an arrow pointing to the start button. It took me a while before I realised that someone at Samsung has a sense of hummer. So if you are thinking of getting one be remember to ignore the dustbin and just push the start button. Over all a good phone with links to Google. Though Samsung may need to sort out a couple of problems for the next generation. That’s if they decide to launch a new phone with Google. These phones can be picked up on eBay brand new in their box with the security tags in tact for under £300 while retailing at over £500 so shop around before you buy. I got mine for £256.00 so there are bargains to be had if you are prepared to wait.Read full review
Excellent phone, upgraded from HTC Desire and this feels so much better. The screen isn't too big as the phone is very light and thin which stops the phone from feeling to chunky. Ice Cream Sandwich is much better than previous versions of android and I've not missed HTC Sense whatsoever. The 1080p camera is very good and can also take some cracking photos. Very cheap for what you get and although it isn't the most powerful phone on the market it runs very smoothly due to the excellent software and the fact that there is no sluggish third-party tweaks forced onto the system.
I have bought 8 of these for the company, after trying out all the latest Samsung Androids.. this one is easily the best with the bonus of always getting the latest Android updates.. good battery life, perfect size, great screen... wont be changing for a while
What can I say really, a really great phone with fantastic hardware and software. Only slightly let down by its sub par battery life (I reckon 24 hours would be pushing it). But it just works great.
