expected more from this because the games were one of the all time best horror shooting games ever made. this dvd did not meet expectations. i Would not recommend to anyone who has not played the games. but if you are playing the games then its probably worth watching.

I've been collecting manga for quite some time now and love most films they produce.Dead space was a game release for Ps3 that i really enjoyed right to the end of the game and was quite gutted when i finished it as there was no more to play,so when i heard the game was bein released in Manga style film i was very excited the film explained everything the game didn't. The film did not dissapoint filled with gore and a deep story fantastic animation and quite on edge watching it.Manga's have been an inspiration to me for a long time now and from time to time you get some real classics, this was one of them! The film didn't follow the character Issac as in the game but it followed the first crew of the fantastic sized ship ishimura and shows how the ship led to be infested with aliens right from the start of the nightmare.A mining mission to the remote planet it is here they find an ancient relic which somehow is thought to prove the existence there is a god.The relic is brought onboard the ship and worshipped by a cult where some think it's evil others think it's holy, their fears are realised later when the relic unleashes a huge evil sleeping alien race. The crew has to fight their way through the ship and try to survive filled with non stop violence a gripping story from start to finish this is a manga i would recommend to anyone who's 18Read full review
I bought this simply as I had watched the 6 Dead Space Animated Comics on Xbox Live, then played Dead Space and loved it, then wanted to see this movie. For under £4 it's excellent value for money. I didn't really dislike anything about it, as I liked the animation, soundtrack and storyline, which, to put it succinctly, centres on a group of people on a space ship in orbit of a planet way out in deep space, having to deal with an infestation of a hostile, necromorphic, alien species. This species seems to have some relation to a special artifact that has come from the orbited planet and was uncovered by a mining crew stationed there. It's basically a detailed prologue / prelude / prequel to the actual Dead Space game and a more detailed telling of what happens after the Animated Comics. There is a lot of gore and swearing, but it wasn't unnecessary, as it emphasised how the protaganists were actually in life-threatening danger. All in all, an excellent purchase that I am completely happy with.Read full review
