Love the versitility, it's a pencil, and you can draw and colour just like pencils. But, add water, either soaking the paper and drawing on it, or brushing water onto your drawing, it becomes ink. Dilute even further, it becomes water colours. Draw on fabric for colour fast decoration. Very easy to use. Graduation of colour is easy and you can blend out the pencil stokes so it looks like paint. The only thing missing in this small set is white, but all the colours are intense! I can now recognise artists and fabric designers that use Inktense from the colours.

These colouring in pencils might and I suppose are expensive however if you are unable to work, really a recluse in your own home due to pain both physical and mental adult colouring in seems like an unlikely source of relief or escape but it can be if you give it a try. Most of the population are not gifted artists although we might like to be but these books and the correct pencils like Derwent make colouring in a pleasant distraction, it passes time that you normally associate with how long until I can take my next medication, it makes you concentrate so deeply on what your doing you are not so focused on pain, pain, pain, helplessness, loneliness, losing your job, I can't do this any more, I can't go out alone any more, your mind is full of negativity, but buying/ investing in the correct equipment/ tools which will last and help you do something you will be proud of and change your perception/ thinking, giving you something to look forward to, want to achieve these pencils are certainly worth a try. Buy a small box to begin with if this therapy is of benefit invest in the larger set I would not buy anything else now.Read full review

I have used Inktense pencils for years. They are so easy to use and to carry around. There are so many ways ways to use them and to produce vibrant and interesting paintings. I take them to Italy every year and record many places that we have seen. Sometimes I use them to make preparatory sketches prior to using oils or Acrylics. At other times I produce ink paintings in their own right. I bought this set as a present for a close friend who has been wanting to try them for ages. These were great value for money as these pencils can be very expensive. I know he's going to love them! I'd recommend them to any one who wants to make quality art with a few pencils and a waterbrush!

Bought and arrived Nov. Used for nine days and was made up with it as a newby to pyrography. Unfortunately on the 9th day nothing. Lot up but just no heat. Contacted the firm I bought it from who were more than happy to send me a replacement straight away and they were certainly true to their word. Was also told to keep the case and bits as spare for my next gun. Was more than happy with this and received my new one within 3 days of phoning them.

I got Inktense for their unique inky medium, when I used water on them I can see a nice vibrant inky quality to them.... They are soft lead as well great for blocking down a base colour quickly... Once dry I am able to work on top of it layering up my drawing for a more detailed affect. If I dab them with a little water I get a dense color and then with a wash they have a nice translucent quality. I definitely recommend these to anyone whose looking to get experimental with there drawing and layering up there work for a more in depth drawing.
