If you are looking to try your luck at finding that really deep cache of treasure and not paying the price for a specialty machine, this may well be the detector for you, that is if bought it with the Eagle Eye attachment. Short of that, compared to modern machines of equal or even a lesser price, it is almost antiquated, and it surprises me that Garrett still makes this thing. Ridiculously heavy, even with the battery detached, short and not adjustable to any desirable length, to many menu options that for most part are not necessary (complicated), the boasted coin size feature is not automatic and must be retrieved each time, and I don’t even believe it has the coin bell tones that the other Garrett machines have? Would look at the AT Pro or AT Gold machines if you want an example of a well tested and modern instrument.Read full review

I hunt relics and the GTI 2500 is a beast, picking up deep bullets where other machines couldn't go. The battery pack is heavy, especially compared to newer machines, but can be detached and put on your belt to lighten the swing. Being an older model it doesn't come wireless, but should be able to be adapted. My GTI was stolen so I'm looking to pick up another to go over the area I've already gone over with my PRO and MAX to see what I missed.
