I had suffered the common headlamp adjuster failure and sourced a working second hand part, but by the time I came to fit it on the car, I found this had another failure. Although I had bought an adjuster repair kit, time was of the essence, and taking a heat gun to an otherwise good lamp isn't for the feint of heart. I came across these refurbished units, which saved me all the jobs I was about to do and were quickly available; the price was fair compared to otherwise needing a new lamp or having to buy more parts and trying to make one good lamp out of two or more. I had already refurbished the lens on my other headlamp and achieved a good quality finish. First impressions out of the box with the refurbished item here was the lens didn't quite match up to what I had achieved; it was perfectly presentable and fine on most cars, but I did opt to have a go myself to match my efforts on my other lamp, and though it improved a little, it didn't get all the way there. I'm careful not to be too critical of this though; the item is clearly sold as a refurbished unit, and that original unit is 16 years old, so there is a realistic limit on how perfect the lens will be without replacing with a new part. I only mention this as if you are expecting this item to as it was when it left the factory, you need to dig deeper and buy new. The adjusters work perfectly on the car, no issues with the quality of light, and despite having the older bulb connectors internally (seems there was a change around 2004), there are no continuity issues to report. Mechanically and operationally, the unit is as faultless, as one would expect. The one problem I am having though is condensation and is probably as a result of having had the lens removed and refitted; the vent tubes are correctly fitted after all, so there's not much else this could be. In every day use where the lights are on, the condense should evaporate of course, but it is a bit of a shame. With the bumper on, which isn't the most enjoyable job to do on a 15 year old car (ended up having to drill out various fixings), getting access to the lamp to have a go at bolstering the sealant will be difficult. If you need a working headlamp in a rush, and need something dependable and solid to get you through the MoT, or are just worried about your own skills, I would definitely recommend this headlamp and the service provided is worth the price; it's much better than taking a chance on a lamp sold as 'working when removed' for £50, only to find it needs taking apart, adjusters replacing (£10-20) and needs deep cleaning and lens polishing (up to £20 for a decent polish kit). If however you expect total perfection on parts that have been cleaned up and could be up to 18 years old (from the earliest 2001 cars), then you probably need to consider buying a new item instead; it's not a realistic expectation. The main reason I can't give it a more glowing rating (pun intended) is because I've now got some condense issues and am not looking forward to stripping the car down again to resolve them but I imagine this is a one-off.Read full review

For about a third the cost of "new", these are a good bargain. Very nicely restored, and with the PA6 adjusters, probably more reliable than "new". Made the trip to the U.S. completely intact. One piece of advice, though, replace all bulbs before installation. Doesn't appear new bulbs are part of the restoration.

Anthony kept me informed every step of the way and went the extra mile to fix my loose bulb aperture covers. Lights are gleaming and have the new adjusters fitted. A lot of work for the price and certainly cheaper than buying new. Would highly recommend this service.
