Worked perfectly. Built a NAS like setup based on Ubuntu 18.04 server with a software (not hardware) raid 6 array. Used boot-up bios(control c) to declare drives. Ubuntu saw them all and the rest was normal procedure with mdadm. Motherboard was from a Lenovo TS140 and had no problems with the card. FYI: I used 8 drives based on the card and 2 more drives based on motherboard controller for a total of 10 drives in the raid 6 array and all worked well together. This was for home, not business. This card worked exactly as I wanted it to.

While the card worked in Windows 10 there was one feature that was missing, and it was a deal breaker. Power consumption and device longevity are important to me. Unfortunately, drives connected to this card would not spin down when idle. I scoured Google and tried reg and driver hacks to no avail. Other than that though the card works great. Speeds are great, it even reduced my CPU utilization, only a little. So if spin down isn't a deal breaker then perhaps this is the card for you. (If you don't need raid functionality at boot, you can flash the firmware and leave out the bios for faster boot times.)

Comparing the "Genuine" card to a bulk card the only difference I can see is the "genuine" card has an extra bar code sticker and cost more. LSI no longer manufactures these cards so I have to wonder if all of these cards are "Knock off" cards. I was able to flash my card to P20 and then back to P16 with no issues. The P19 and P20 firmware only recognized the brand new hard drives (SATA-III) I had plugged in. I had to flash the card to P16 for the card to recognized both the new drives (SATA-III) and old drives (SATA-II) that I wanted to use.

Using it as a replacement for the perc 6i in a Dell R710. For my application I wanted a card that offered drive pass through AND S.M.A.R.T. info. [Who knew these were useful features in an enterprise data scenario? 😉 ] Been running 24/7 for a month with no issues whatsoever. Great HBA. Update: Card failed after ~6 months. started dropping disks. tested in other server with same result. Have run quite a few of these without issue though so I'll be back for more (removed 1 star)

Used it to add another set of 146GB SFF drives to my Proliant ML350. No issues and working great.
