Got this second one immediately after setting up the first one for my girlfriend's laptop, an HP with a 15.6" screen. Perfect fit for her, very easy to keep between her laptop and the tray she already had under it. Keeps things nice and cool, quiet, you don't lose a USB port, as there is a plug extending from the plug for this unit if you need the port. Great fit also for my Dell with 13.3" screen. Should extend the life of the machines, keeping them much cooler. Very good price, as well.

Not bad but I expected a quieter fan. It is just a bit louder than my MacBook Pro's cooling fan, when it kicks-in and there is a very slight rattle. (I purchased (2) two TopMate TM-2 units and both have a slight rattle along with the fan sound). I am using them in a music/recording environment so I wanted them to present no more noise then the cooling fan in the computer. So, I WILL have to turn off (unplug—there is no on/off switch) the TopMate TM-2 when recording. Also, the usb connection on the attached cable (where it attaches to the computer's usb hub) takes up too much space as the outgoing wire attaches to the side of the usb connector rather than the top or bottom. With only one way to insert a usb plug into a computer, there is no alternative to how a usb plugs in. This design obstructs other computer attachments that are next to the usb computer insert. IF it happens that there is no additional computer insert ports on the side of the wire, you won't have an issue but if there is a port you need to access, the side-manufactured wire outlet will obstruct that near by port. It reminds me of how a device transformer "wall wart" obstructs additional AC input plugs. All in all, it WILL help keep the computer cooler AND it is not an expensive product. Knowing what I know now I would have spent more for a similar device that does not have the issues I've mentioned. So, I would NOT consider this TopMate TM-2 C302 a total waste—just not as good as I hoped to buy.Read full review

My first thought was that this will never last and it's only been 2 days so that may still be the case. It is thin plastic which turned me off too, but I have to say, it's doing the job for sure. My laptop battery went bad, possibly do to the heat or just always being plugged in so it ran on constant plug power for a long time and was always hot. It was so hot that it warped the printers scanner lid that it was sitting on. A friend recommended a fan platform and a good blowing out with compressed air. I did both and my computer is as cool as ever. For the price, even if it lasts 6 months it'd be worth it. The open back of the USB plug is a big plus since they are already filled, it doesn't take up any extra USB port space.

I have been using laptop cooling pads for several years now and know their value. They normally don't last that long, maybe 8 or 9 months. But they are low in cost enough to keep buying. This one is the latest laptop fans I have bought. It works well, it's very quiet and I like the double USB port, which allows me to plug a thumb drive or something else into the port while I am cooling the laptop. Good value for the money.

It keeps my laptop from overheating and keeps it cool. The two fans do the trick. I tried one I bought with one fan, but had to return it because it did not keep my laptop from getting hot. Highly recommend this product.
