My purchase was a replacement for an identical camera, because part of the camera case was broken (due to my carelessness) I have used this camera for years, and always found it excellent, easy to use, giving high quality images, and it is small and easy to carry around, recommended.

Bought as an Xmas present for my wife to replace a Canon A570 which has taken to eating batteries at an astonishing rate. Great little camera to use as a point and shoot; can't comment on the more complex of the picture taking settings (yet). Plenty of day-to-day settings including the ability to take lower resolution pictures and a choice of 16:9 or 4:3 format. Excellent telephoto and colour balance in pictures. All in all, well happy but would have liked to see it being able to be charged from the mains instead of USB only.
I needed a new camera. My old one went kaput. I checked out many videos on YouTube from many different cameras before deciding on this model. I normally shoot at about 5 megapixels which is big enough for a 10x8 inch print. This bringe the optical zoom to 13x. Results are very sharp and colourful. Intelligent Auto function is excellent. My only criticism is that you cannot zoom while shooting video, but looking at some other models the mic usually picks up the sound of the zoom lens and people tend to zoom too much anyway. My previous camera had digital image stabilization which is good as far as it goes. But optical image stabilization is much better. It doesn't have a Leica lens like many Lumix models but nevertheless it takes good pics. I bought the camera in mid winter and it's been very murky outside. All I need is something decent to take pictures of.Read full review
This is a lovely camera. Simple to use but produces superb results with the minimum of fuss. 14.5 Megapixels mean that the results are very crisp and can be enlarged up with good results. It has a wide angle lens that's the equivalent of a 28mm on a 35mm camera, which is better than a lot. The Panasonic software can be a bit wearing in that as soon as you plug the camera or card into the computer it sort of takes over - but it does make sure that all your photos are saved onto your computer without you having to do anything. The video mode is also really excellent producing good, crisp videos. The Ai section is so good that you rarely need to move the settings dial away from that - it copes with virtually everything you throw at it. The only minor drawback is that I still long for a viewfinder. The screen is very good, but just occasionally it leaves you wondering exactly what you're taking a photo of. The ebay price was very good, as was the service supplied by the seller!Read full review
