As stated in the summary above, this flash light is solidly built and puts out a lot of light. Being able to interchange batteries with other Ryobi products is great. The head of the flashlight will rotate (on an angled base) which allows the light to be pointed straight forward or aimed up at an angle. This ability to rotate the head of the flashlight might not sound important but it is. When holding it in one's hand, a traditional forward aim is normally preferred, but if one was to set it down on the ground while changing a tire (as just one example) then having the light go up on to the tire rather that into the dirt and grass is very helpful. In order to keep the brightness up and the cost down an incandescent bulb was used rather than an LED. As a result the bulb could be broken if the flash light was dropped and suffered a dramatic impact (such as off the top of a ladder onto concrete). Also, the incandescent bulb uses about 4 times as much power. The Ryobi 18V batteries hold some much energy that they can easily power even these "inefficient" bulbs for a LONG time. It is still my hope that in the future a nearly identical LED bulb version will be sold (after the price of high-wattage LED's drops just a little more). For now however, I am very pleased with this one.Read full review

The one downside of this very useful light is the stiffness of the on/off button which is a rubber sealed blister type. The rubber used is so thick it makes switching with a gloved hand seem virtually impossible and even difficult with a bare hand from an awkward angle. Otherwise a great light.

Ryobi, has just about everything, battery or AC. I really love them! The flashlight is one of the simplest tools, and it makes life so easy. I use these flashlights as battery savers, following Li-Ion battery recommendations to store already drained, not batteries. I think sometimes the worst thing to do is to store a fully charged battery. I have 4 and keep buying more! They're just fun to have around, Especially if you have power outages. Ryobi's system is so flexible, expandable, and truly remarkable without making you spend hundreds of dollars for the name.
