If the dog is at the age to be receptive to training, and this age differs widely from dog to dog, then this collar works extremely well - even when the dogs swims rivers on a regular basis. Great value for money compared to others I've bought in the past, one for £35+ - rusted and stopped working very quicklyand another, £145 from USA, which worked well until the collar rechargeable battery gave out after a couple of years (battery unavailable in the UK.)

I bought this to help control our dog when off the lead, at first it did have an affect (few days) but she became used to it and doesn't take any notice of the vibrate option or the beep option. To be fair I haven't tried the static shock and I'm reluctant to do so. Maybe if you are thinking of purchasing this collar it is reasonably priced and if it doesn't have the desired impact it hasn't been an expensive loss. I ticked "yes" in the recommend box because it could work for a different breed?????

Item not great and had to take it off my dog with in the first 30 mins as as soon as went off without the dog barking put to other noises round the house dog starts yelping in pain and that just sets the shock over and over again so felt this to be extremely cruel, so will have to try a remote one that I have control of when to shock the dog

cant use this item,as it is too sensitve and if someone talks or the tv is on it activates the collar , the poor dog is getting a static shock for nothing. id send back but after postage etc it wouldnt be worth my time. the price is cheap but i'd pay double for one that does the job
