About this product
Red Steel for Nintendo Wii opens up in a gruesome and dramatic fashion as you discover that your fiancé has been abducted. Things get even worse as her father, a chief member of the ruthless Japanese crime family, is killed by enemies. There is one path alone to rescue your beloved as you travel from L.A to Japan to go toe-toe with the grim and highly dangerous underworld in the bustling city of Tokyo.
This game could've been a lot better. It is not top notch on the graphics department, but the graphics are still ok.
The controls are quite sluggish and are not as smooth as Nintendo's own products. Seems like Ubisoft didn't know how to fluid controls with the new system.
The story is your basic revenge story with a nice setting. The swordplay should've been 1:1 real, but instead Ubisoft opted to make a more gesture based system. Even in Red Steel 2 they are still going with gesture based sword fighting which was a stupid decision because they had MotionPlus in use. This first one doesn't use MotionPlus as it was not available in 2006.
Also there is weird error in the geisha saving mission which always crashes my Wii. I don't know why that happens? It is impossible to get further in the game.
being a young in mind 63yr old, I really do enjoy all these sought of games...only trouble is this game came without instructions & I cant seem to get past my first sword fight, & in frustration have left it for a while and concentrated on my conduit game......any hints would be nice.
