I bought this as a street and general purpose lens because of its size and weight, its ideal on a camera like a Sony A6000, it fits in a jacket pocket. The lens is sharp and is good for landscapes and product work as the 30mm focal length does it all. Very good lens and cheaper than the camera manufacturers similar lenses,

Bought this to use on my Sony A6000 and it is the only non-Sony lens I have for this particular camera. Haven't used it much as I wasn't impressed with it from my first outing. Colours are weak and poor compared to the Sony lenses but this is to be expected for a lens in this price range. Was intending to purchase others in the sigma Art range but don't thing there is any point. Small and lightweight but just not up to standard in my opinion.

Only had the chance to use it once, since it arrived yesterday, but so far I've got nothing but good things to say, and hope to stay that way. Comes in a padded fabric pouch, with front and rear caps and the hood. It's very well built. Performance wise, since it's a prime lens, it has amazing low light capabilities, it's also sharp and fast when it comes to autofocus. All things considered, I'm very satisfied with the product and it's price quality relation.

It is not an impressive looking lens but the performance is excellent. I have the Sony E-mount version and it is vastly better than my Sony SELP 1650 kit lens. It is also better than my Sony FE 28mm prime lens. Only at full aperture is the Sony lens a little bit better. That is a BIG compliment to the Sigma lens. If you don't need the extra spread of a 28mm lens, the Sigma Art 30mm is a no-brainer. It is sharp, fast focussing and unobtrusive. Ideal for street photography on an A6000 etc. You DON'T look like a professional when using this lens.

I suppose Sigma dropped this from the range to concentrate on the 30mm f/1.4, which is equally good but much heavier to lug around and more expensive. The 2.8 is soft in the corners at full aperture (show me a lens that isn't) and reaches max. sharpness at f/5.6. If you don't need a fast lens or zoom this is hard to improve on for an E-mount camera. Autofocus works well on a Sony A6000.
