This is a neat little machine which is very easy to set up and use. The only small criticism I have is that on fast forward/reverse it does not auto stop at end of the tape. Other than that it is a great way of transferring all my old tapes on to my iTunes library

Sounded like a great idea! Easy to use too! How ever it will not seem to stay on a solid record. Keeps cutting off record. Some times after a few seconds, or mins, max lasted 9mins! No good for me as I need at least 30moms recording without the record function stopping on its own! Big shame!

At the price I have no complaints. I was able to record a number of 40 year old cassettes as MP3 files and upload them to Soundcloud. It does produce an annoying buzz/hum but, again at this price, it did the job. The direction of tape is still something of a mystery to me and the controls are a little clunky. Providing the signal level is relatively high, you don't notice the buzz. I wasn't able to remove it with a notch filter but I have only been using the Audacity software for a day or two. I couldn't try the software that came with the machine as my Mac doesn't have a suitable drive. I have already recommended it to one friend, the drummer of the band we were in 40 years ago. And if falls apart tomorrow I have had my money's worth.

Received cassette player earlier than estimated date. Plays cassettes with good sound quality, Earphones provided were lacking in bass so used my own and they sounds good. I have not copied cassettes to mp3 or CD so cannot comment on this. I just wanted to be able to listen to old cassettes I have. Even without the option of copying cassettes this would be a great value player so I am very happy with this purchase.

You can install batteries but unclear why if you are just using it to play tapes onto your PC through the USB port as that suffices. I suppose with batteries and the provided earbuds you could use it as a Sony Walkman, but that's not why I bought it. It does have an old version of Audacity provided on a disc, but you can download the latest version for free from the internet Converting audio tape to MP3 format works, but does require manual intervention with Audacity, it is not a fully automated process Once I have converted all my tapes to MP3 I don't suppose I'll have any further use for it, so it's the right price for a job like that.
