Tarzan, based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' 1912 literary creation, is an original and graphically sophisticated game featuring the Lord of the Jungle running, leaping, climbing, swimming, swinging and punching his way through the wilds of darkest Africa to the tune of a nifty jungle beat. The game suffers significant lag time when Tarzan is knocked down or when he's snared by randomly placed pit traps. The lushly illustrated jungle is teeming with snakes, crocodiles, caged beasts, hunters and an annoying ape that, luckily, is easy to stun. The final scene of this lengthy (though much shorter than Pitfall!) game plays as though it were a lost level of Donkey Kong Junior, but the trademark Tarzan yell at games' end is weak.
