The DVD itself is more than certainly worth buying for any young car enthusiast. Full of slapstick jokes, wildly modified vehicles and outrageous scenarios all giving solutions for an apocolypse's gruesome aftermath.
However, don't go buying this product expecting Clarkson to be here; as he's not. James and Richard of course are on the film but I for one aren't overly fond of Top Gear without the full team.
I bought this for myself, a die-hard car enthusiast. However, this disk doesn't focus so much on 'cars' in detail; unlike the televised Top Gear show. Instead, it fills the gaps in with challenges based around a post-apocolyptic world featuring just 'any old car.' Not once is 'horsepower' or 'top speed' metioned; just 'this car is amazing at withstanding tins of Baked Beans' or 'the £50 SatNav is ruubish.'
So, if it doesn't focus on motors, what does it focus on? FUN! If i'm honest, the sheer daftness is really amusing. Some of the challenges are purely funny; and so what if you aren't bombarded with Ferrari and blown away buy mr Bugatti? Sometimes just ordinary affordable vehicles being stupidly modified is enough!
The price is very cheap if bought from eBay. I just payed 99p for mine BRAND NEW. The pricing is no issue and you get a fun-filled one hour's worth of enjoyment!
However, I am not giving it 5* or 4* simply because of the nil-car focus. Not for adults or people expecting to be thrilled with Aston Martins and Saturn-5 rockets; just a rust-bucket and a tin of Baked Beans will great your TV...
If your looking for a daft, yet really fun, hour of TV; but it! Otherwise, i'd go for one of Clarkson's DVD's. He's quite serious and will blitz you with speed and horsepower...!
