      Ideal for a Shed

      Brilliant product. I used mine to make my shed secure, no more rusty padlocks. You can also lock the shed from the inside without using the key.

      Not as good as it looks

      When this arrived it wasn’t possible to lock/unlock with the key. I took it apart, which is straightforward and was horrified to see how basic the mechanism is. The key mechanism simply rotates a small nylon cam which moves the bolt left or right. I promise you, if I was so inclined I’d force the lock in seconds, without noise or fuss. The reason the lock didn’t work was because the gubbins are a bit crude and imprecise. Easily fixed, but I shan’t bother as I subsequently bought a slightly more expensive cays lock, which is much, much better. Nb. The bolt on this projects no further than any other mortise lock.

      Good so far!

      As suggested, easy to install. Seems very solid for the most part - the bolt itself is massive. There’s a slight “but”, though, in that the bolt movement mechanism uses a notched and sprung slider that is made of a hard plastic or nylon. We shall see how robust that turns out to be.
