Zoom-Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G AF-S wide-to-telephoto 3.5x zoom lens is ideal for landscape, full-length portraits, travel and portrait photography. Exclusive newly designed Silent Wave Motor enables ultra-high-speed autofocusing with exceptional accuracy and powerful super-quiet operation. The lens features compact size and high performance realized by new optical system including an aspherical lens and ED glass element; 0.38m closest shooting distance; rounded diaphragm (7 blades) for natural blur. M/A mode allows rapid switching between autofocus and manual-focus operation. Internal Focusing (IF) design ensures smoother focusing and great body balance. Flower-shaped Lens Hood HB-28 is provided. Nikon D-type design provides precise distance information for flash and ambient light exposure processes. High-performance Nikon Super Integrated Coating offers superior color reproduction and minimizes ghost and flare. New G design enables apertures to be selected from select Nikon AF SLR camera bodies.

    Nikon's best mid range zoom.

    Nikon's best mid range zoom. Brilliant on FX and even better on DX at 36 to 150 approx as it only uses the centre of the lens. The VR is brilliant especially when you are old like me and can no longer keep a lens still. Almost as good as my fixed 35mm f2 and 50mm f1.8D you have will be hard pressed to see the difference. Sharp at all zoom ranges do not hesitate you will like it.

    Needed a new lens for my FX D750, some reports suggested that it could be better, but I have found it to have excellent sharpness. took a photo inside a marque and there was a lady standing at least 30 feet away behind the subject I was photographing and on the blow up of the photo you could actually see the time on her watch. You will not need a better lens than this.
