Without giving much of a history lesson, the SEGA dreamcast only lasted a year and a half before Sega quit the console business, due to past financial failings and massive competition from Sony. Though it's life was short however, around 700 games were released for the system and many are truly excellent. If you enjoy platformers, the two sonic games are the hedgehog's 3D finest, same can be said for Rayman 2. RPGs have the brilliant Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2, aswell as the first (and so far only) two Shenmue titles (arguably not RPGs, but I call them that). But fighting games are this consoles strongest asset, with Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Soul Calibur leading the charge. And that's just a few examples, there are many other great choices too, Chu Chu rocket is a great puzzler, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Resident Evil Code Veronica, Virtua Tennis, Bangai O, Hydro Thunder.
