  • the best wire striper

it is easy to use, blades are replaceable for a different wire gauge size. have an older style one for many years. i purchased this for my grandson who is interested in electronics. he is 10 years old. and i think he will get many years of use from this tool as i have from my older model. great tool for the money at any price. blades are easy to change. would suggest buy extra blades to cover all wire gauge sizes . this will give you coverage from 8 to 28 AWG.

  • Precision wire strippers...

Klein has been around for decades and known for quality, these are now made in Taiwan; the same as GearWrench and many other name brand tools. Nevertheless, they work just like my 40 year old set, so we shall see, Unlike other self adjusting strippers that without a cutter, grab and pull the shield until it breaks, this style cuts the shield and pulls apart in the same one squeeze motion. This model requires you to choose the right slot for the gauge of wire from 8-24 AWG Solid or 10-22 AWG Stranded. If not sure of the gauge, start with a little larger slot and work your way down until the wire is stripped. That said, these are more precision, especially for stranded wire because and once again, these do not depend on pulling the shield apart... these actually cut the shield and then pull apart in the same motion.

  • Well-made. Still Not-Quite what I was hoping.

I already bought a "flat-blade/universal" version of this tool in the Gardner-Bender/GB variety. It made two strips on standard solid-core 12-ga wire with the extra plastic coating before, apparently, loosening up and failing to do any more clean strips. The complete picture is that the environment was around 20F so the insulation(s) were a little stiffer than in, say, July. This tool otoh has separately sized holes for each gauge, but again, temperature seems to matter. It works fine to strip 12-ga on the 12-ga hole if the wire is warm enough, but has trouble if it's cold. I then drop down to the 14-ga hole to start it and back to the 12-ga to finish. I'd LOVE to have a Special Single-Gauge Version of this tool, Dedicated--and Optimized in terms of Forces Needed--to JUST 12-ga. Solid, but I think it's going to take that to get a 5* rating.

  • A well made wire stripper that does the job easily

I had a pair of this type wire stripper for many years and recently it broke. So, my research led me to the Klein wire stripper. The Klein is a serious upgrade to my previous tool. It has a wire cutter that is very handy and it works. The wire stripping blades are perfectly sized and strip the wires cleanly without nicking or cutting into the wire strands. I found it to easily strip all the sizes of wire it is designed for, plus it easily stripped solid wires, too. The Klein is well made, and does not look or feel cheap. It also fits well into my hand and operates easily, stripping wires with minimal effort. I would recommend this tool to anyone who wants this type of wire stripper.

  • Semi-Automatic Wire Stripper

All you have to do is line your wire up under the marked hole size for the wire you have and leave enough wire hanging out to get the length of bare wire you need for your connection. Squeeze the handle and voila! A neatly trimmed bare wire with the insulation removed cleanly without nicking the wire or cutting any strands. Really helpful when you have a lot of connections to make.

  • Good Bang for the Buck (But)

Recommending for wire larger than 22 guage but it has problems with 22gu. even though the sales ad. indicated that it would also strip 22gu. and once it arrived it came to my attention that the blade does not have a 22gu. indication. I needed 22gu. for bread board wires. The wire has thin insulation on it so that is probably why it would not strip it. It would not strip 22 gauge solid hookup wire either again because the insulation on the wire is thin. Looking for another stripper but this stripper works wonderfully for any larger gauge wire with standard insulation such as that use in electrical work.

  • Klein KATAPULT wire stripper and cutter.

Awesome stripper, I have been an electrician over 30 years and these are awesome strippers, I've usually been pretty skeptical of these types of items but the type of wire I am using currently is SIS wire which is rated 105C and they work awesome!! Great value and great quality.

  • easy to use, also strips small gauge wire

excellent product. The only thing missing is a stop to measure strip length.

  • Awesome wire stripper!

Awesome wire stripper! Will cleanly and quickly strip one inch of the insulation off the ends of electrical cord with one squeeze of the handles without cutting the wire(s). Strips 8-20 American Wire Gauge AWG solid copper wire and 10-22 AWG stranded copper conductor. Also cuts copper wire up to 10AWG. MUCH better than the pulling action of the usual "pliers"-shaped wire strippers! Hope this helps!

  • These are high quality and work very well

I am extremely pleased with the Klein 11063W Katapult Wire Stripper/Cutter. I have had them for a short period of time but so far these seem to be very good quality and they are doing the job perfectly. I even occasionally use them to strip the plastic coating off smaller stainless steel cable before swedging ends on the cable and they are working for this, though it puts a strain on them. Stripping regular copper electric wire is like cutting butter for these. The cutters work well for copper wire. I recommend them and would buy them again.
