Replaced my Tom Tom with is unit purely so that it fits into the oem cradle and works with the bikes controller. No issues at all fitting it straight to the bike. The garmin was fairly easy to understand with lots of built in features. The only problem I had was the volume on the unit was distorting the directions in my helmet. Had to disconnect the helmet coms to access the volume bars and turn the volume right down to 20% to make it clear enough. Very happy with it in all and worth the extra money. Now to learn basecamp !!!

This the updated version of the Nav6, unfortunately I've had to purchase this version 2 as the last two version 1's went faulty as they all do eventually after about a year and a half, they were all fitted with defective screens. I sincerely hope that they have fixed this problem with this version, it's a very good piece of kit although it's operation and menus are starting to get a little long in the tooth now, I would have thought they might have taken this opportunity to update it's software as well as the screen but sadly they didn't so if you buy a version2 don't expect to see much difference to the version1. The only difference I have noticed visually is that the opening screen and main menu screens are now black and white as opposed to the colour screens of the ver1. I had hoped they would have fixed the Virb Camera App that is built in the Nav6 but sadly it still refused to control either of my Virb Action Cameras correctly. It is without doubt a nice bit of kit that integrates well-ish with your BMW motorcycle showing a myriad of info about your bike and the ability to control it from the bikes wonder wheel but as I've already said it's inner workings and front end are now well out of date yet BMW are still asking a premium price for it? BMW have now brought out an adapter that allows you to put your mobile phone where the std GPS would fit and you can control the phone from the bikes controller so I doubt that there will be a Navigator7 so if you're wanting one then I'd get in quick while the Navigator6 is still available.Read full review

Having had a TomTom years ago this is the a long awaited upgrade. Chose this as mounting was added to new bike so thought I’d get one. It’s packed with loads of features - round trip, winding roads, points of interest and then becomes a detailed review of road and bikes condition. Bluetooth connectivity is a pain to be honest but overall when it is connected it’s cool. It’s a bit expensive but does form part of the bikes DNA when connected and allows wheel use when riding

Good sat nav with a host of features, but pricy, even though I paid a lot less than the RRP. A pain in the arse to lser up an SD card for music and maps too. Took hours of YouTube and googling to figure it out ,Downloading new software to format an SD card , in order for the Garmin to recognize it . Wouldn’t happen with a Japanese unit, just plug and play. Once you get past this hassle it’s a nice piece of equipment

I bought this to use on my F750 GS and it complements the TFT well. I’m still learning many of the features, but like the integration with the bike and the ability to pre-plan routes on the PC using Garmin’s Basecamp software. It’s solidly built and fully weatherproof. If you’re happy with the on-board turn by turn navigation, then the Navigator VI is an expensive upgrade. I like to have a map display, though, with speed camera and traffic alerts and there’s a stack of bike information it can display too. All in all this is a great bit of kit.

this Garmin is really for use with a BMW compatible motorcycle. Having no external speaker it is not easy to use in a vehicle cab. it's high cost makes it a selective and specialist item. unless one uses all of its specialist attributes then there are more competitively priced units that will get you from A to B. However, if one uses the full capability of the unit and its associated web programmes then the dedicated full time rider will find this unit of great use and value. A top end Sat Nav for a top end bike. .
