Excellent book, well written.
The current conflict in Israel and Gaza prompted me to find out more about the history of it. This book gives a factual and well researched account from the roots of the zionist movement at the end of the 19th century to the early 21st century. You only need to read the 15 pages of the introduction to get the key events and main players in the saga. The detail that follows in the book is a real eye-opener to how the Israeli state came in to being. You only need to look through the reviews at the front to realise the accuracy and knowledge with which it was written despite the author being an interested party.
