Could do with some ergonomic rethinking
The remote control works i.e. if I press the right button and I'm somewhere that the signal gets to the box, then the Alarm is armed or unarmed. However, I have chosen not to use it for at least a couple of reasons.
(1) I'd question the range. When I am at my front door, the signal from the remote doesn't appear to get to my Alarm, only about 5m and two double-glazed doors away from me. That's not good news if you go into the house expecting the alarm to be off :-(
(2) The buttons on the remote are more or less identical. The proverbial blind man running for his life couldn't tell the difference. Would it not have been easy to make the keys different sizes or shapes so that someone who doesn't use the remote several times a day (myself) doesn't have to think too much about which key is which? The symbols don't mean a helluva lot: why not use the locked padlock and unlocked padlock that are on the alarm itself?
