An excellent purchase for my Triumph Herald: the standard washer pump is manual and very hit-and-miss, now via a push button it's bang on every time, just how you want it when driving conditions aren't ideal. I've only had it installed a few weeks so time will tell, but it seems of adequate quality, for example the hose spigots didn't break off when I connected, disconnected and re-connected them a few times, getting the hose run right; and the pump sounds healthy. It's even powerful enough to surge washer fluid through a non-return valve, which the standard manual pump couldn't manage. I didn't want to drill holes in my old car to fit it, so I did this with a cable tie through the holes in the pump bracket and around the brake master cylinder, with a bit of double-sided foam tape between the cylinder and pump bracket in case of electrolysis (what do I know? It can't hurt, right?). The pump's going nowhere and doesn't interfere with access to the cylinder's fluid cap. Very pleased.Read full review

" Lucas" Screen wash pump Failed very quickly within 2 liters of use, clearly a cheap low quality product from China. Lucas once had a good name for auto electrical parts ,but now they sell cheap low quality Chinese rubbish.

The unit burned out within seconds of being fitted. It contained no instructions but was installed by a qualified electrician. No + or - markings were visible so the obvious assumption was that it could be wired either way. Several days later I found a photo of another unit in a magazine and realised the manufacturer had placed the sticker with model details over the terminal markings so they were invisible. The retailer failed to answer my email complaint. A total waste of time and money.

My old water pump was installed in the early 1980s, a marvellous piece of French engineering, just packed in this year. Glad to have found a great replacement!

The washer pump is almost identical to the old one, which is nice on a classic car. Performs about the same too.

Not the best engineered product in the world (to be fair, that probably reflects the age of the design) but it does the job and pushes a decent amount of fluid out through the washers.

Powerful water jet, easy to install. Not particularly quiet but just what you would expect.
