So far very happy
Everyone is so impressed with my new addition to desserts. I've tried cooked, custard base varieties plus ice cream with uncooked milk and cream; all have turned out really well. Personally I find the simple recipes in the handbook are even better and fuss free than the ones in the recipe book. I've used a cheaper model where you have to freeze the mixing bowl overnight but the results aren't in the same league as with this machine - the level of coldness is just right plus the beaters are much more sturdy and powerful. The machine is bulky so needs a space to store it. (Mine sits nicely on the bottom shelf of a standard 50cm walk unit which I don't begrudge as I love it!!.

Really Does the Job.
We chose the Gelato Chef - basically an Italian machine rebranded Magimix - because there's no messy involvement of fridges or freezers. It's an all-in-one. The ice cream is great and the cleaning is surprisingly straightforward. The only slight issue is that it's a bit noisy. But we are really very happy with the choice and the freedom to create custom ice cream. The actual manufacturer, by the way, is Nemox. They're a big deal in Italy, where they really do know about ice cream.
