Everything I could want in an EPROM programmer
I was at the end of my rope with the old Willem type parallel port programmer. Not only would parallel converters not work on modern PCs but the last computer with a real parallel port was dying and the version of programming software that was posted online would not run properly. Extremely frustrating just to program a 27xx series EPROM! All I found was a mess of broken links and outdated information. Then I came across the GQ-4X4 universal programmer and despite not really wanting to throw another $100 at the problem I am glad I did so because it is everything I could wish for in an EPROM programmerl. Being all software configured, there are no more DIP switches or jumpers to fiddle with and since it is completely powered and controlled via USB it should be usable for as long as I need it. Great basic programmer
I needed a programmer for AM2716 EPROM. I use Windows 10 and the software on the disc loaded without a problem. Had to go to the website and download the drivers because the disc version would not download, no big deal. The cool thing for me is I needed to save the existing file and make a few changes and save the new file. The supplied software as basic as it is does the job. Burn baby burn
Have sucessfully programmed a couple eproms for older gm ecu. Bit of a learning curve involved for me at least, but that is not the programmers fault. I purchased a seperate power adapter even though it is not required, it does help programmers burn stability(some computers usb ports amperage is weak). alternative power supply = 9v 200ma positive center 2.1mm for those looking for specs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fun to use and a great value.
This True USB Universal Programmer was purchased to read the calibration data from SRAM on a Tektronix 2465B memory PWB. The SRAM embedded lithium cell was nearly depleted, but calibration data recovery was successful, even in a degraded battery state. The latest device drivers are downloaded from the manufacturer's website and the included driver disk is set aside. Driver installation may be a bit confusing to a newcomer, but once the correct driver is located in the zip file and it is unzipped and loaded from an isolated folder, the process is easy. Although this project was completed with the onboard ZIFF connector, many ZIFF connector adapters are available for this programmer. No difficulty was encountered when running the programmer from a powered USB 2.0 port, and power supplied to the USB connector was adequate to burn a new SRAM. If power is not present on the USB port or is inadequate, then an AC wall adapter, not supplied, may be connected to the DC port on the Programmer. Device software provides a BIN to HEX converter so that programs can be viewed and evaluated. This information is viewed from the Buffer tab.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great programmer/great price
I've owned a lot of universal programmer, mostly expensive ones. For a low cost programmer this does a really nice job. Unlike the original Willems, this version has all SW settable jumpers.
