  Very poor quality and dangerous to use

  This lamp holder is poor quality and ...actually dangerous to use. For a start the clip isn't very strong so you can't really secure it safely for risk of it falling off (we wanted to attach it above a Zoo Zone cage as a temporary home for a pygmy hedgehog). Secondly and more importantly, we connected it up with a Micro Climate thermostat and 100w ceramic heat bulb (it says it's rated to 150w) and within mintues of being turned on part of the case around the heat element started to melt. Wasn't bothered that it didn't have a UK plug as they're cheap and easy to add but this lamp holder is just dangerous to use and could have caused a fire. I've now built a small wooden stand with a ceramic holder and that works much better, this holder went in the bin.

  Not at all useful if you live in the U.K.

  There isn’t a U.K. plug on this an...d I wouldn’t have purchased this item if that had been specified on the description. Most electrical goods either specify which plug the unit has or they include both a US and a U.K. suitable plug.
