Is this the best modern oratorio for Holy Week ever?
I believe there is only one CD of this at the moment, from Wells Cathedral. Get it and this score and sing along to the hymns. Even better, find a performance somewhere - they will be everywhere in Holy Week in two or three years' time - and take part in the service. For that is what it is - a service not a performance, because the congregation joins in the hymns - simple melodies that anyone can sing but in hauntingly beautiful settings. Enjoyable is not the right word for the work - profound, moving, unforgettable are, and having the score is not expensive and adds greatly to the experience.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
