Great Features
The Cobra 29LX is a radio that takes a little getting used to at first, but the directions really help. It has lots of buttons and ways to set things like font color, mic gain, etc. Being able to change the color for night driving is a neat thing to have, but I'm still determining which color I like best. The brightness for daytime driving is great, but the night driving brightness seems a little bright to me. On yellow or green, it still lights up the inside of my truck more than I like; red or blue seem to tone the brightness down. But very few radios allow for any changing of the night brightness, so the LX is hands-down better than anything else I looked at. I was concerned about the weather frequency coming in using a CB antenna, but I matched this radio to a K30 and the weather channels come in perfectly. This radio is so nice it is a shame I only buy a new CB every twenty years or so.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works Very Well, Looks Really Good, but it's HUGE!!! (and not perfect)
It works very well and it looks really good. The display can be changed to green, blue, or orange, but only the green is bright enough to see by day (with brightness turned up all the way and the dimmer off.) The knobs are cheap, flimsy plastic like on a toy; I'm afraid they will break off if I bump them. The channel-changer knob in the middle changes channel every time the coily microphone cable brushes up against it, but sometimes I can't tell because the display is not bright enough to read in the daytime. I have never been able to receive a weather radio transmission with this radio, probably because I don't have a dual-band antenna and I'm not going to get one. This radio is also huge and difficult to find a place for, even in my full-size pickup, so I took my fold-down cup holder unit out of the dash for it. If you don't need a PA or weather radio built-in (I don't), you could probably go with a smaller radio.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good CB for the money.
So far so good. Hooked it but the Wilson antenna was not set properly so nothing happened at first. Did a readjust on the antenna base to antenna and the CB worked very good. Weather channel and scanner is a nice option and it appears that this Radio Shop I purchased the CB from did a good job tweaking the CB. It comes in open box but it's never been used, the shop opens the box to tweak the radio prior to shipping. Very good radio
This is a very good radio. I especially like the scanning feature on both the CB channels and WX channels. It looks really good when paired up with my Cobra HG-m84 mic. They look like they were made for each other. I decided to also go with the Cobra magnetic antenna. It's an extra 1-1/2 feet taller than my Firestick and it seemed to have helped a bit. At least I don't get the warning about keying the mic too long. I guess that all comes with having a tuned radio. The power know is really small especially when you have big fingers. I wish there was a kit to fix that. The radio came tuned. The only problem I'm having with it is I can't get my SWR below 2.5. I even tried switching antennas. I checked my ground, Delivery was fast. Great Buy!
I’ve owned several CB radios for my personal pickups. This Radio is very simple to setup and use. Unfortunately I’m not able to say how powerful this radio is as I live deep in the Mountains and other than picking up the Weather Band it’s of very little use to except when I travel a few times a month. In my area it’s very difficult to get comms out unless you can reach a relay or repeater. It’s a Common problem I also experienced with Communications even with Military Equipment in Afghanistan and is in no way a downside to this particular Radio. Just be advised if you live in that type of terrain not to expect too much from a CB unless you have a base station or repeater.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I thought it was brand new! It was in what appeared to be in the original packaging, with the original hardware. A coworker just purchased the cb from the store for 139.99 dollars. Ha! Its a good radio at a better than average price. Was interested in it for the scan feature as its a hobby of mine to listen to the mail and so far its has performed very well.The cons are it arrived less the operators manual and power cord but the supplier when contacted shipped me a new cord but no manual so i went on line and printed one off. over all it came with a 2year warranty advertised and at a good price so i am happy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished
