Don't use it to shave your head, but great for your face.
I bought this to shave my bald head. It works great, but it's quite a bit of work to do; I assume ALL shavers are like this, since this is my first and only electric shaver. Basically, it's a mess-free way to MAINTAIN your already short/shaved face/head. If your stubble is more than 1/8" long, get ready to set aside some significant time (30min or so) to accomplish what a razor can do in 10min. Still, it's simple, no creams, potions or salves, and effective. This model says it's water proof. That's excellent, because cleaning it is a snap! Open the lid, wash with water, leave lid open until dry. Overally, as a face-shaver, this thing is tops! As a head-shaver, it's kinda slow, but that's not it's advertised purpose... New Old Stock ??
Included with the shaver was a Special Offer Warranty Card ! It stated that the "offer" expired in 2017 meaning that this shaver had sat someplace for AT LEAST 3 years until I purchased it. It appears NOT to have the power of my previous 810 shaver ( even after being freshly charged ) and may not be holding it's charge. It seems to cut OK but it just takes longer. From Razor to Electric
I bought this electric razor because of it's features and value. I am pleased with it's wet/dry option. Being a long time razor shaver, it is taking a little time to adjust my beard to electric cutting (Norelco advises 3-4 weeks) but it gives a nice, fast shave right now ... anywhere. I am handicap and need a flexible way to shave and not be restricted to just bathroom and sink. I can now shave twice a day just sitting on my sofa ! It's light weight, holds a good charge (about an hour) and gives an acceptable, fast shave. I am satisfied with the purchase. My old Norelco was taking 20 minutes to shave my face. As they age the motor turns slower and slower. I changed the heads but it seemed to be even worse. So I bought this one because it has all the right features: pop-up trimmer, 50-minute charge, low battery indicator and even an indicator to tell you when to change your heads! Plus I loved the red color. Has just the right weight in your hand and it zooms over your face. Only operates cordless
I went to the Philips Norelco website. It shows corded/cordless operation. I thought it will work with the cord plugged in. No. You need the cord to charge the shaver but it will not work while the cord is plugged in. So, it is cordless operation only. Other than that, it works great. Best all around shaver!
I purchased this for my husband after he had a much more expensive one I had purchased him from Costco. That one had the swivel neck and could be washed under the faucet, no brush needed. Well, within a couple of months, my husband complained that the shaver smelled like old people. I smelled it, and that is what I would describe it as. Not a good smell. So, back I went to Costco and returned it. Then I saw this shaver at such a reasonable price, and my dad had just bought this exact same razor and loves it. Well, my husband loves it to. Great for an electric razor
This razor actually gives a nice shave the first time out! Once you switch from manual to electric it usually takes some time for your skin to adjust to the change. Quality razor excellent features
Nice razor very smooth comfortable shave holds charge well and recharges in 50 min I just use the brush to clean -- cleans quick. you can use water have not tried I will just use brush I have a funny thing about using water . won't hurt razor its designed for it I'm just old fashioned that way. A very close shave...
I've always hated scraping my face and enjoyed another Norelco for years until the battery died. This razor was 1/3 the cost of my 1st Norelco and it does a wonderful job. After a week or so my beard was 'trained' to the Norelco and it is a simple, uncomplicated one minute process to shave which can be accomplished virtually anywhere.
